Have a sit, let's talk...

What to Expect from Cinema in the Coming Years?

An Opinion Piece

Historically, cinema has been suffering from a decline in audience. In other words, the seventh art is regressing. However, never in the history of cinema has there been so much mobilization around films — take Avengers: Endgame, for example. But why do so many critics state so vehemently that, according to them, "cinema is dying"?

To answer this question, we must ask ourselves: what is life in art?

According to childhood teachings, art is human expression. Yet, this is where we fail, because this form of expression has become scarce, rare, even denigrated. The reason for this is simple: artists have lost their sense of purpose and have started seeing art as a market. This isn't wrong — it's merely an ethical debate, conditioned by the market itself, whether external or internal. What I mean is that, no matter where we are, finances have taken over. People need basic rights; for that, the capitalist system makes meritocracy essential. Thus, the artist who once wrote about inner fears no longer sees purpose in that. Instead, they see a waste of time — or rather, they don't feel valued.

Cinema as Capitalized Art

When we stop to think about cinema specifically, the debate becomes even more complex, because within it resides the most capitalized art in the world. Nevertheless, there is a strand of cinema that proves increasingly avant-garde: experimental cinema.

Names like Maya Deren rejuvenated an entire generation of film students, proving that cinema can be part of the market, but cinema is not the market. As proof, we have movements such as the French New Wave, Cinema Novo, and others. These movements studied the true face of the human being, where discomfort stood out precisely because that was — and remains — the global and essential reality of being a living person. By citing these movements, I want to make it clear that this is not about what is or isn't art, but rather about what art can provoke outside the market perspective.

Personality and Polarization

Furthermore, thinkers like Godard reflected many of their political views in their works. This gives personality, gives body to a work. Nowadays, in a completely polarized world — lacking the basic education to even have an honest debate — imposing an artistic vision generates debate. And isn't that magical?

But why is it so rare?

Currently, debates are not about what is or isn't prosperous policy, but rather about segregation. Consider ICE in the US, creating an entire network of intolerance toward immigrants. Imagine a world where shared coexistence is a problem.

We grew up in a world that valued differences as unique characteristics of each human being. Yet, when we reach adulthood, what actually happened?

The Filmmaker and the Fight That Isn't Theirs

Therefore, when a filmmaker today tries to make a film about equality, they have already picked a fight that, in theory, isn't theirs — because a work does not define the artist, and this rule applies to everyone. When we look at the global scene, it becomes even more chaotic.

The issue is not the loss of creativity, but rather the intention behind what will be done with one's work — and, in extreme cases, with the artists themselves.

For this reason, value works more and more, whatever they may be. They carry a context, and that context says more about us than we imagine.

What to Expect from Cinema in the Coming Years?

The best.

It's not about reflecting on quality. It's about understanding that without intention, there will be no change. It's like attracting positive energy: the complexity of feeling alone in a sea of people is nothing more than the sensation that everyone is complaining.

Cinema will undergo a revival — fact. This is already happening with the decline of superhero films. The next stage will be the renaissance of auteur cinema, where names already in the industry will have more and more space.

I say this based on the way the world is moving: with the decline of American hegemony and the rise of China — a country that has valued art as expression since the 1970s. The main question that remains is not "will the US decline in cinema?" but rather "when?".

An Invitation to Reflect

Thus, the intention of this text is to make you think. Think a little about your position in the world, about what you have been consuming, and how that affects your daily life. So: what have you been watching? What does that say about who you truly are and how you think?

Veja a U.S.

O melhor.

Assim, a intenção deste texto é fazer você pensar.

The Post-War World: The Moral, Social, and Political Concern in a Single Man

The Birth of a Rebel

1941, post-World War II. In Warsaw, a young filmmaker was born, ready to discover his talent as a director. However, along with him, a true rebel was also born: a young man who, in the chaos of nature, decided to see beauty in the smallest details. We are talking about Krzysztof Kieślowski.

Along with the announcement of this text's theme, we inaugurate Cine&Castigo's new segment: career analysis. First, it's important to clarify something: we won't be providing information about what he did in his childhood. Instead, we will focus on what the works of certain actors, screenwriters, and directors convey from that moment onward — face to face with the screen. So, let's understand a bit more about who Kieślowski was.

The Start on Polish Television

After discovering himself as an artist, Kieślowski began his career in cinema through television. How did that happen? At the time, Poland, devastated by war, faced a worldwide concern: how to rebuild itself. Given this scenario, the main means of communication was art — in all its formats: newspapers, films, series. That's how Kieślowski earned his space by making shorts. These short films already revealed an authorial tone, but nothing yet that demonstrated his full potential as a filmmaker.

Dekalog: The Series That Revealed the Artist

On the other hand, Kieślowski remained faithful to his ideology — increasingly pacifist — which conveyed social dissatisfaction while also revealing his human side. That was when he appeared to Poland with Dekalog.

Dekalog is a Polish drama series based on the Ten Commandments. However, the series' idea gradually revealed itself more as a support than as an inspiration. In other words: the director did not follow the commandments strictly; instead, through mundane and absurd stories, Kieślowski united the religious with sin, the religious with the real. With this in mind, we have the following perspective: although he was, in theory, a man who believed in Catholicism, he was not afraid to disturb the more selective parts of the world — a true way of challenging without demanding.

In Episode I of Dekalog, we have the first contact with a debate more than contemporary: what is technology, if not the expression of God? This question becomes even more intriguing when we stop to analyze that Dekalog never gives us the answer. On the contrary: the series presents a situation for the audience to reflect upon. Automatically, we fall into the moral and ethical debate, and the episode's title reveals the true reason the series remains, to this day, the best television production ever made. Thus, the themes range from science to family values, proving more than ever that Poland was becoming too small for that director.

The Move to France: The Peak of His Career

Then Kieślowski moved to France, the peak of his career. On French soil, the director found the highest essence of artistic class: discretion. With this "addition," works emerged that increasingly delved into the "self" in relation to me, and no longer the "self" in relation to others. Overall, his films gained narrative depth beyond politics, and the study of humanity took shape through intimate questions. It all began with one of the most remarkable partnerships of the time, alongside Irène Jacob: The Double Life of Veronique.

To understand how this duo won over France, we need to go back a few years in our timeline. It was when, in an American film, Kieślowski saw potential in Irène (a supporting role in that production) — and that's how they met.

The Duality of Life in The Double Life of Veronique

For Veronique, the duality of life is measured by distance: two worlds are correlated, interconnected. Living life without understanding the divergences of the "unplanned" is a sin. A sin that redeems inner peace — this peace never truly appeased. Therefore, when the film ends, we witness the birth of Krzysztof Kieślowski's French phase.

The Grand Finale: The Three Colors Trilogy

And to conclude, the grand finale: The Three Colors Trilogy. This trilogy is, without a doubt, Kieślowski's most famous and acclaimed series of films, featuring what would become two of the world's leading actresses: Julie Delpy and Juliette Binoche.

Blue — Pain and Grief

The series of feature films begins with Blue, the state of loss, of depression. In it, we find a Kieślowski increasingly essayistic and poetic. Understanding that art resides in pain, he conveys grief as if it were just a feather falling and soaking into a lake: we realize that the form of expression we are presented with is not about the power to move emotionally, but rather the power to agonize us.

White — Irony and Politics

In White, we have a story that flirts with comedy. It is ironic, almost like an episode of an American TV series, yet with the most political tone of the three films. Thus, the lack of individuality is met with technical stimuli, such as brilliance. Combined with the narrative, the film becomes a true question: "Is life really that interesting at this point?"

Red — The Perfect Encounter

Finally, Red, the return of Irène Jacob. This film is the ideal marriage of technique and visuals. It's as if every detail were intentionally placed, making the narrative just as important as the warm-toned lighting. When everything seems to be heading toward a logical conclusion, suddenly, in the simplest story, we find the trigger of emotions. Kieślowski crowns his career by bringing his three muses together in a single scene.

Final Consideration: The Legacy of a Methodical Filmmaker

If I were to speak personally about Kieślowski, I would admittedly say that he is boring, methodical... However, it is impossible not to admire the creative capacity of such a director. Compared to today's filmmakers, we miss someone capable of making a low-budget film with great substance, because our market has been led to believe that money dictates the game. Therefore, here's some advice: watch the director's filmography in chronological order. It is one of the best experiences to witness the artist's maturation both as a person and as a creator.

O Mundo Pós-Guerra: A Preocupação Moral, Social e Política em um Só Homem

O Nascimento de um Rebelde

1941, pós-Segunda Guerra Mundial.

Blue — A Dor e o Luto

Diretores semelhantes: Tarkovsky.

The Weight of Guilt, Time, and Pain in Riding Alone for Thousands of Miles

"I admit it, my mistakes made me lose time that will never come back..."

Between Realism and the Ludic

As a work, the film is limited. It confines itself to narrative choices that do not fully align with its initial tone. It is as if a realistic work automatically gives itself the freedom to introduce “magic,” in other words, playing on two sides at once. There is a relationship that ultimately defines that, despite everything, the film does not possess a clear identity. But that does not make it a weak film, and that comes down to two crucial points: originality and emotion.

Emotion is what sustains the film’s two-hour runtime, becoming extremely important in preventing it from falling into stagnation. Through a narrative that, from its very logline, is essentially slow, immersion takes on the role of “push and pull.” In other words, the film will not constantly stimulate you; it will not alternate fantasy and reality, despite superficially flirting with unreality. But I think we can go deeper into what may be the true meaning of a work of art: subjectivity.

Time and the Construction of Meaning

When we stop to think about time, our initial perception is often relativistic, as if time itself were walking over us, while all we can do is sit and wait. And this image comes and goes; it has no clear purpose, no concrete logic. This may be because we, as sociologists, philosophers, and scientists, cannot define with precision what time actually is.

However, Riding Alone for Thousands of Miles (2005) demonstrates in practice that, despite the vague concept of time, as human beings we are capable of giving meaning to it. Our twenty-four hours become more than just ordinary time; they lead us toward small goals, and those goals may involve the well-being of others. This is where we arrive at the film’s central point.

The Inheritance of Pain

Having a child is an adult matter. We cannot allow our past mistakes to spill over into a new soul. Imagine a completely pure being, a being unconscious while conscious. There is something magical about that, isn’t there? But not everything is beautiful when we live within a way of life that teaches us that pain is the path to success. And this philosophy is degrading, it is fragile. If everything we do revolves around pain, then why do we expect something different in return?

Absence creates absence; pain creates pain. In a complex way, what the film represents can be summarized as irresponsibility inherited from a generation. Kenichi is a son who understood very little about his father, and that “little” was enough for him never to truly understand paternal love. And if pain creates pain, then it happened to the father as well.

Heredity and Consumption

From a more philosophical perspective, our heredity is functional. I say this because of the need to carry something hypothetical forward, something that, in fact, may not even truly exist. But why has this become so socially important?

Let us think about the main foundation of human life within the system imposed upon us: consumption. The truth is that the issue was never about leaving your name on Earth, but rather about giving meaning to the pain that life caused you. And when this is combined with consumption, we have a true internal war within someone who probably worked their entire life and barely managed to survive. Kenichi and his father are products of a way of life that generated external pain only to eventually arrive at internal pain.

When the Film Breaks Its Own Logic

Therefore, when the film decides to become increasingly more ludic, it fails. Because at no point do we receive the counterbalance exactly where, logically, it should exist. The military representation becomes “friendly” even toward prisoners, which weakens the film’s immersion.

Immersion is not something crucial, contrary to what many people think. It is a detail. In this case, for me, it truly became an annoyance. But do not misunderstand me: this does not mean I disliked the film. It simply means that, within the proposal the film established, I could not find logic in certain choices.

The Weight of Guilt

Returning to the central relationship, the father's irresponsibility is answered in a cruel way by the screenplay. It is the kind of ending that makes film fans say, “they should listen to the fans,” when they absolutely should not.

The film demanded a farewell, but as mentioned before, despite its ludic elements, it still remains realistic, and perhaps the main characteristic of death is its suddenness. And then, suddenly, everything ends. The farewell never happened; we never even received forgiveness. But we did receive redemption — that much is true.

On the other hand, the cruelest part of the film is what comes afterward, what is left unseen. Kenichi’s father will have to live forever with the burden of having treated the son of a stranger better than his own son.

The weight of guilt can be just as cruel as the absence of forgiveness. And thinking about this is ultimately reflecting on humanity itself. All of this becomes a lesson. And to conclude, I leave one final question:

If pain creates pain, what is our role in changing that?

Caímos então no ponto central do filme.

What is your Letterboxd?

Is It 5 Stars...?

How the Rating System Has Been Harming Your Experience with Films

Grades? What to expect?

We need to seek a crucial reference in film criticism: the Cahiers du Cinéma, a critical journal formed by names such as Jean-Luc Godard and François Truffaut. But why start from this point? Because there is no conformist art, but rather critics who decide that, from a certain point onward, therein lies the ability to give voice to their own authorship. Therefore, any user of platforms like Filmow and Letterboxd can be the new Godard, the new Varda. The issue was never about the conception of a film, but rather how that film would affect the life of its creator. At that point, like a lapse of irrationality, lies the collection of every work you have ever consumed in your life: welcome to the hegemony of creativity!

Creativity as a muscle

In other words, creating is an omnipresent neurological capacity. Let us illustrate with something essential for cinema to exist: the shot. The shot is nothing more than the pre-visualization of something, not necessarily of cinema. But have you ever thought about your childhood games? Creativity is something to be developed, stimulated, truly like a muscle in a gym. Unfortunately, the years are passing faster and faster, and today, in the place of play that naturally stimulated the creative essence of human beings, we find quick stimuli, such as social media accounts at age ten (even for newborns). All of this is a social construction leading us to a new topic: manipulation by the media.

Manipulation and critical thinking

Social manipulation stems from the inability to think critically. When absorbed, critical thinking retains small "particles" of information — that is, the part where your favorite content creator says "this is perfect" about a sponsored product. You believe it because, for decades, the internet has built an environment conducive to ready-made truths. These truths affect two groups: those who believe them and those who criticize them. And you might be practicing this right now, here at Cine&Castigo. We are not machines; we are true sources of creativity. Social media consumes a great deal of this creativity the moment it atrophies your critical thinking — or, better said: you become accustomed to letting someone else think for you. But where does the rating system come in?

The birth of cinema and criticism

Simple: the answer has already been given. So let us take another path.

When cinema was created, along with it came the epidermis of criticism of a new medium: discomfort. So, when everything seemed murky, with many possibilities, somewhere in France and Japan there were people who saw there the birth of an abyssal creativity. Therefore, when cinema is born, art comes with it, and consequently, criticism. But what differentiates criticism from the past from today's criticism?

Let us think like a true filmmaker from the 1910s. When we can finally film Greek tragedies, Shakespeare, and others, cinematic adaptation emerges. Soon after, the first creative names appear, who will justify film criticism as an individual before art. It is with this sentence that we shall proceed. Thus, criticism begins with public opinion — that is, us. Certainly, critics refined filmmakers' techniques with their opinions, but unconsciously, there was the question: "Can I do this?"

The French liberation and the ratings

This question brings us back to the 1950s, to the aforementioned Cahiers du Cinéma. It is at this moment that the liberation of the French anarchist artistic voice occurred. While the United States reiterated the American way of life (with classic and very good works, such as Sunset Boulevard), French cinema flirted much more with the creation of an ideology that, consequently, refuted the globally implanted system — capitalism — and even French history itself, such as the French Revolution. In other words, broadly speaking, France emerges as a potential artistic lighthouse because it possessed a differential ideology, aligned with the global spotlight centered on the USA and Europe. Anyway, critical ratings came off the page.

Competition among cinephiles

Nowadays, ratings have been used to mark what has been consumed. However, the much-cited internet insists on redefining competitiveness year after year — that is, your friend's number on Letterboxd must always be lower than yours. But why does this happen?

The question is very simple for an even simpler answer: competition exists because, at some point, someone decided to be better than another, thus creating the cinephile community. Cinephiles are a subgroup, just like any university group. The system of which we are a part already nurtures this rivalry. Being a cinephile is currently trendy — which is very good, make no mistake. But the generation does not match this; as we said, critical thinking is being poorly stimulated, unlike the media, which inflames us with stimuli.

Conclusion: consumption without criticism

So, what we can conclude is that cinema lives in an era very conducive to consumption, but not to criticism. When a person logs a film on Letterboxd, the tendency is toward pleasure, and the phrase "I was watching the film thinking about the review" is very common. In other words, the pleasure is not in watching the film, but in inflating the false importance that that number will provide you.

Finally, a critic once said: "Go to a job interview with 1,000 films on Letterboxd and see if they hire you." This sums up why the entire rating system, in the end, is the result of a society full of opinions but with little critical thinking.

A manipulação e o senso crítico

A libertação francesa e as notas

Enfim, as notas críticas saíram do papel.

But what are you afraid of?

The Genius of Trauma

Ned Rifle and the Power of Tone

First of all: what was it like to watch this film? I do not mean that in a critical sense, but rather as a genuine feeling of being drawn equally toward confusion and reason. The idea is not to internalize it in an isolated way, comparing it to Ingmar Bergman, but instead as a real struggle: internalizing and externalizing.

Through its narrative duality, Ned Rifle seems much more like a specimen of discomfort than necessarily a... film. I say this as a way of trying to identify what these ninety minutes truly are. There is no clear definition, because during that time what happens are far more psychological stimuli than narrative ones.

A Film to Revisit

Now, putting it into simpler terms: this is not a film to understand, but rather one to revisit over and over again. The central idea seems to be an essay on poetry itself. The author’s individualism is essential for the film to stop being narrative and become essayistic.

Publicly, essay films are often treated as a separate category, a more “cult” branch of cinema. According to AIs — yes, artificial intelligences — there is a resistance within film audiences toward screenplays that are, in theory, more literary. That is true.

However, the idea I want to introduce here is this: a film made for everyone is an empty film. And Ned Rifle is a film for those searching for a form of study, an attempt to understand psychology itself, sharply contrasted against the tone of the film.

The film itself is a comedy, but an extremely tragic comedy. Consequently, what exactly are the traumas within Ned Rifle?

Religion as Punishment

When we talk about revenge, we understand that there are two sides: the victim and the aggressor. In this case, Ned Rifle is a victim in layers. One of them is the social punishment generated by being the son of criminals, but he is also a victim of religious morality.

While one is clearly a pre-established development — social prejudice — the other is nothing more than correction. Religious correction is not about improving Ned, but rather forcing him to pay for a faith that was, in theory, imposed upon him. In other words: if your parents did not have God, you will.

Hal Hartley’s vision of religion is clearly a punitive perspective built through guilt, which, despite being constructed through innocence, becomes a realistic documentation of how religion stops being a safe harbor and turns into another form of aggression — or rather, punishment.

Religious punishment is a silent form of regulation defended by certain thinkers from ancient philosophy. But why do I focus so much on this?

Faith, Guilt, and Contradiction

Talking about religion is a sensitive topic because it is, in theory, the most genuine source of human faith. On the other hand, the foundation of Christianity is, in my view, a method of ordering and regulating individual freedom.

I say this not as an offense, but based on the framework through which Ned Rifle presents the subject: Ned is a religious person, he wants to commit sinful acts, but in the end he is stopped by his own faith. Yet he himself does not possess a concrete understanding of what he actually believes in.

Faith comes from something beautiful, something that often dies over time through its contradictions, ultimately living beside the hypocrisy we inherit as we grow older and begin to understand the world.

It is this duality that transforms a simple trauma of coexistence — and nonexistence — into something we perceive as disruptive.

Susan and Permanent Trauma

Susan, however, was the figure that interested me the most because, unlike Ned, she possesses a background that the film sustains much better than that of the protagonist.

While Ned carries traumas inherited through family legacy, Susan lives her trauma constantly, at least within what the film presents. And Susan’s trauma is painful.

She relives that night since the age of thirteen, and the deeper she sinks into memories of manipulation, the more she manipulates those around her in order to return to that feeling of being just another “girl” living through a “forbidden love.”

But why does this arc work so well?

The Social Weight of Violence

Socially, it is far more acceptable for a forty-year-old man to date a fourteen-year-old girl than for the son of criminals to be converted.

I say this because the argument defending such a relationship is embedded within the law itself: a minor may engage in sexual relations with someone over eighteen if there is consent. Do you understand how society defends itself before the accusation even exists?

Therefore, we are left with a thirty-year-old woman endlessly searching for a reason to exist beyond her trauma, even while her entire life gains meaning from reliving it.

So, What Is the Film?

So let us return to the usual question: what is the film?

Ned Rifle is about revisiting trauma. A film that threatens revenge, but in practice is about children trying to recover lost time while living inside adult bodies.

Trauma is not about how long it lasted, but rather how long it affected the rest of someone’s life.

So when Ned or Susan become manipulators, they are nothing more than survivors adapting themselves to protect the child who once waited for a moment of peace.

Ultimately, this is the reality hidden behind the internalization of pain.

PORTUGUÊS:

A genialidade do trauma

Ned Rifle e o poder do tom

“The most personal, is the most creative”

A brilliant phrase, or just a common one?

Let us finally analyze something that one of the greatest names in modern cinema said: “The most personal, is the most creative.” What does this mean? To find this answer, we must go back around 75,000 to 100,000 years ago, when human beings first reproduced art through painting.

Cave art and the void of meaning

Cave painting is an expression of the true human face, marked by the specificity and precision of Neanderthals' daily lives, a historical derivation of the evolutionary line of Homo sapiens. I bring this detail to examine something that, over time, has unraveled — not due to its absence, but rather because of the method and purpose of what came to be made.

Little is known about the intention or purpose of Neanderthal art. It is an intense and completely empty debate, if we want to understand what was actually going on in the mind of that person who was, factually, humanity’s first artist. The emptiness, in the Neanderthal sense, stems from a question that even today we cannot comprehend: we do not truly know what art is. Across its periods of study, we have characteristics, but nothing that explains how individuality is so closely linked to the collective.

So, we can conclude that something between reproduction and imagination lived inside that person — something that marked a period of their life and made that painting vivid. This raises the debate: how real can art be?

What lies beyond flesh and bone?

This question reveals much more about how realistic we are with ourselves than it does about a relativization of art and its possibilities. We are, after all, flesh and bone. But what do we have beyond that? This question answers the previous one.

Today, we know that the function of art has ceased to be a portrait and has come to be seen as a market. And do you know what fuels the art market? The ego. The artistic ego is much more than wanting to be better. It ceases to be individual and becomes strategic. Thus, we have controversies. These controversies generate a superficial interest from the public in the artist, and consequently provoke a pre-existing discomfort — such as, for example, “dislikes” on YouTube, which produce much more of a herd effect than a genuine opinion.

The origin of the artistic ego

To understand where, theoretically, this artistic ego comes from, let's keep it simple: “artistic ego” is a term used to refer to what happens to an artist in relation to the reproduction and public reaction to their art. One of the most emblematic cases in cinema concerning the ego involves a film that I love: The Brown Bunny, by Vincent Gallo.

The year was 2003, at the Cannes Film Festival. Vincent Gallo and the critic Roger Ebert argued aggressively about an opinion regarding the film. That definitively hit Gallo’s ego. Consequently, it became personal, resulting in the phrase: “I can lose weight, but Vincent Gallo will forever be the director of The Brown Bunny.”

Do you understand how the industry created a model of an artist who must necessarily be competitive, instead of being fundamental to the study of human psychology?

Back to Scorsese

With this explanation, we return to Scorsese’s phrase. Associating it with what has been said, the market changed the intention of the first artist in history. Competitiveness marks a time of segregation in the global artistic field, making works that stir the inner “self” increasingly rare — works whose characteristics would, in theory, form a result of nuances minimally created through small details.

So, what can we expect from authorship in this scenario? That is a question whose answer we will have to wait for.

A breath of renewal in cinema

However, in cinema, authorship is slowly being reborn. I use an unexpected director as an example: Sean Baker. Director of modern films such as The Florida Project (2017) and Tangerine (2015), Baker portrays a life rarely discussed — something I would classify as a formality of recognizing life in the areas that the government does not reach. Lives that society chooses to ignore become, for a moment, worthy of the spotlight.

But, as not everything is flowers, this example is one among so many authorial voices that are emerging and which have no real space in the mainstream. Meanwhile, works like those from Marvel and DC remain the center of the market. And that is not bad — do not be fooled by the talk that there is an active enemy in the industry.

The golden age that will not return

There was a time in cinema, in the 70s and 90s, when the market dared to give chances to authorial directors. And the result? Today we know this period as “the golden age of cinema.” But this will never happen again, because back then technology was not determinant for the creation of a film. What I mean is: when technology becomes part of production and commercialization, the main idea becomes the exploitation of technology above human creation — just as Charles Chaplin depicted in Modern Times.

Will human beings be replaced?

To conclude, we briefly enter a debate: will human beings be replaced? They will not. But at the same time... they already are being replaced. What was once a detail-oriented role, such as that of a script supervisor, will soon be reduced and resolved through chroma keys. Does this reduce their importance? No. But it raises an alert about how far technology should intervene in human experience — in all areas.

Elsewhere, reality flows into tears. The industry asks for thinkers but does not fund ideals for fear of deconstruction. Here, we cite politics. After all, art is politics. For funding to reach thinkers, we need someone who values art, because within it lies the human being. In other words, the hypocrisy of the human being is directly linked to the fragility of an organizing system.

Consequently, Scorsese was right. But not even the artistic voices that praise him combat the ignorance created by the market. The unhappiness of having access to information is equivalent to its quality and functionality. In short, the hypocrisies of the 21st century.

The most personal, is the most creative”.

A arte rupestre e o vazio do significado

A origem do ego artístico

Voltando a Scorsese

Nisso, citamos a política.

Consequentemente, Scorsese estava certo. Enfim, as hipocrisias do século XXI.
